Zoom is a videotelephony proprietary software program developed by Zoom Video Communications. The free plan provides a video chatting service that allows up to 100 participants concurrently, with a 40-minute time restriction.

Zoom meetings are ideal for hosting more interactive sessions where you’ll want to have lots of audience participation or break your session into smaller groups. Meetings can accommodate up to 1,000 participants.

The Zoom Webinar is an add-on for paid plans. Zoom Webinar is ideal for large audiences or events that are open to the public. Participants will be view-only while panelists are seen and heard. Zoom Webinar can accommodate up to 50,000 participants.

The Pro license is host license and has no time limits and no limitation to the number of meetings. One host license will allow for one meeting to be held at a time. A 100 participant capacity comes with the Pro, but can be increased if need be. This allows all participants the ability to see, speak, hear, and screen share with each other.

The webinar add-on is a one-way broadcast or traditional webinar style, designed for a presentation to a wide audience of silent viewers. Viewers cannot be seen or heard, they are just viewing the presentation. They do have the ability to interact via Q&A, chat, and answering polling questions, but don’t participate in the presentation unless they are promoted to a panelist. You can stream live to Facebook or YouTube and it also includes reporting, registration, email reminders, and branding.
