Standard Database Service
Oracle Standard Database Service is a low-cost, managed compute and storage platform that allows you to securely run Oracle Database workloads in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Flexible virtual machine shapes and consumption-based pricing simplifies meeting application performance and availability requirements.
Oracle Database Standard Edition 2 may only be licensed on servers that have a maximum capacity of 2 sockets. In addition, notwithstanding any provision in Your Oracle license agreement to the contrary, each Oracle Database Standard Edition 2 database may use a maximum of 16 CPU threads at any time. The minimums when licensing by Named User Plus (NUP) metric are 10 NUP licenses per server. Socket is defined as a slot that houses a chip (or a multi-chip module) which contains a collection of one or more cores. Regardless of the number of cores, each chip (or multi-core module) shall count as a single socket. All occupied sockets on which the Oracle program installed and/or running must be licensed
